How it will work
Well if you have not seen our
page already, then please go to our homepage at:or (see fig 1) http://www.auto-glass.com
On the left of the screen notice
several categories in which the customer can choose the type of service needed. They will
see a blinking CLICK animation to tell them to click on one of the categories needed. The
Body of the page will be the homepage of the site. The body will change from time to time
depending on news, specials, and link advertisements. This will be the Home of the
Internet Glass network.
Lets say they
click AUTO GLASS. Then they will be taken to our Auto Glass Order Page where they can fill
out a form requesting information on a product or service. (see fig#2) Unlike alot of pages which are just info sources, which just gives the
customer information on products and services, this form allows them to interact. The
whole basis of our service is targeted to the internet user who is ready to utilize the
Internet fully. These are the people who buy cars, books, cd's, pizza, and glass products:
through their web browsers. There are estimates on the $$$$ amounts that the internet is
generating. Some experts say its close to some 20 billion a year.

After the customer enters the
needed information, they click a submit button. After that the form information is sent to
our e-mail data base and processed. When you sign up with us, you will provide zip codes
in the area in which you cover. The data base will then process the form information, and
match it with glass shops that covers that zip code area. Webpages without this type of
input require the customer to email the shop for information. That means the webmaster of
the webpage or the business owner must constantly check their email, and in some cases the
customer only has a telephone # to respond to. This is not the way the internet consumer
wants to be treated. They want a quick response to their inquiry, or at least some
response through their email informing them that their order was received by the webmaster
of the page. Once we receive the inquiry, an auto responder is sent to their email address
telling them that their glass inquiry was received and that a glass shop in their area
will contact them shortly. Turn around time should be under an hour for this to be
effective.
How will I get the order
Simple. When the order is
processed by our server, and the shop is located, we will FAX the order to you. However if
we email it, you are required to have an Internet connection running during regular
business hours. You would not believe how impressed the customer will be if the turn
around time from sending the form to receiving a reply it is under a couple of hours. That
is our goal. Here is an example.

Mobile Service(YOU COME TO ME)
When receiving a fax from us,
please treat it as if it was a phone call giving it your immediate attention. Notice that
this customer wishes to have the response email to them. The customer will be given
several options in which you can respond. Most likely the first option will be to email
them back the information. In that case you will on the same form enter the information
and fax it back to us. We then will forward it to the customer. OR, if you do have an
internet connection in the shop, you can email the customer yourself. If we send the
customer the email, it will have all of YOUR company information on the email, so they can
finally contact you to set up the appointment. Other options are to call or fax them.
Can I personalize the Page and the Form?
Yes. For example
look at (fig 3). (fig 4) You will notice that you can have your
own home page and form. There are 2 ways to go about this. If you have your own web
presence, you can link to your form page if the customer wishes to contact you with an
order. If you don't have your own web page you can utilize both our home page and our form
pages as your companies web page. However it is strongly suggested that you do create some
sort of company web page. We also provide that service if you so desire. To have your own
web page you need a thing called a URL. If you use our webpage format then your URL would
be www.auto-glass.com/xyzcompany. However if you wish for us to build a page for you, you
can have www.xyzcompany. Further information on this is in the next page called the
PROGRAM page.

fig 3 will have your own banner, shop
address, telephone numbers, and a map finder for your customers to find you. It will also
have the buttons to the left of the product and services you handle. From Auto Glass to
Plate, Mirrors etc.
fig 4 will have the form page with your
banner on top. When the customer submits their order the it will be faxed directly to you
or email to you. Whatever you wish or set up with us.
Benefits of having your own webpage with order form
It is becoming a struggle for many independent and national glass shops to keep up with the times. With your own internet presence, you can give another innovative option to your customer in which they can send you work. Say you have been going after a fleet company of 500 cars. These 500 cars are given to salespeople which you and I know are difficult to track down. The Company has a web page that the sales people use to report call sheets to, and to correspond to management of daily activities. Well sell the company that you can have the fleet customer, agent, insurance company, body shop, dealer, you name it, go to your web page and report a glass loss to you. Its just another innovative way to get business. Contractors, and Large chain buyers now can order through the form. Remember being proactive in some cases shows quality and great reputation. Even though the customer might not need or use your web page now, you just impressed them that you are ahead of your time. Remember when you make sales calls you want to leave a impression, right!
Web Presence
Although the Search Engine has great advantages, it by no means is the only way to present yourself on the Internet. Banners are an alternate choice, but many do not target customers. They are spread around randomly throughout high traffic web pages, hoping to hit their target audience. Linking of Banners are another good choice. The positive reason for linking banners is that if one customer visits your homepage which is located in San Jose, CA, but the customer lives in Teaneck N.J, then back they go back to the search engine. However if you give them a link to a Nationwide Glass Referral Service, they might click on that banner. By cross linking the network to your page will help all members of our network to NETWORK. So, someday the glass shop in Teaneck will get a hit from a customer in San Jose linking them back to you. This is a very effective way of advertising. So each member shop will have a link back to our shop.
We will spend most of our advertising dollar and target the glass needing consumer to our page, then to your shop. However all advertising will be spent on Target Banners, and the Targeting of people in search of Glass Products. Not the person just surfing the web.
Glass Industry News
As a member you can also use us for glass industry news and links. This way you can keep up with important information regarding our industry. We will also be soliciting our manufacturer and suppliers to better inform you with new products and technologies.
You mean Another Network?
The inception of the Glass Networks in the Mid 1980's were in the beginning useful program to all Independent and National Glass Shops. They did bring insured, company, and glass shop together by utilizing a 800 #'s that the agent and insurance company would give their insured to call. The good intentions back in the inception of the USA Glass Network and others, were to generate business for a fee to the shop and increase market share for all concerned. The Insurance industry also needed a more centralized processing of the "Glass Claim", thus the creation of EDI. However now the Glass Networks has another agenda. To conquer the market and offer to the insurance industry in house administration of their glass program. This has been the fuel to the success of the networks, leaving the independent glass shop at their mercy.
We are a true
Consumer Network. Being the insured or customer in many States have the right to choose
their own repair facility, we will be just another convenient forum in which to connect
the glass shop and consumer together.
